Rise Above – Capital Region Cancer Relief

Rise Above - Capital Region Cancer Relief commenced operation in 1986 and provides financial assistance and support to cancer patients and family residing with them within the ACT, Queanbeyan, and surrounds.

Many pharmacies have patients with accounts for medication paid by Rise Above – providing direct financial support to patients in need.  Over 640 patients and their families were assisted in 2024!

Capital Chemist Group is a foundation partner of the charity having supported it since its formative years and in that time, we have donated over $1.1M to enable the charity to operate and support locals who are at a vulnerable stage of their life. 

In addition to this direct support many pharmacies host donation boxes or donation tap machines and over the years we have been involved with Rise Above’s fundraisers, the Convoy for Cancer, the Hawaiian Shirt Ball and many other events.
