Council on the Ageing (COTA) ACT works to shape a just and equitable society for older Canberrans. We work with older Canberrans to assist with and empower them to create a fair community in which they feel they can participate and contribute to their fullest.

Our major engagement with COTA is at Senior’s Week Expo – now called the “Silver is Gold expo”. We provide health checks and pharmacist support on the day. We also sponsor the Positive Ageing Award which recognize the importance of a philosophy of positive ageing, as well as acknowledging the many contributions of older individuals and organisations to our society.

Hughes Men’s Shed received funds from us through our relationship with COTA, as part of the initial setup of the Hughes Men’s Shed.
