Pick up your 2021 Capital Chemist Community Calendar and support a local Rural Fire Service

Each year at Capital Chemist Group, we produce a free Community Calendar for our customers and patients. It’s one of the ways that we like to give back to the community and help everyone stay on track with their health.

What’s the theme?

This year, our Community Calendar is particularly special. 2020 has been a challenging year for our pharmacies and their communities. It began with Australia’s summer of 2019-2020 which scorched nearly 20 million hectares, destroyed 6,000 buildings and tragically killed 34 people.

The majority of the fires directly affected a dozen Capital Chemist pharmacies and their communities in NSW and ACT. Narooma, Batemans Bay, Batehaven, Ulladulla, Huskisson, Bowral, Mittagong and Braidwood were all directly impacted, and all of our stores felt the flow-on effect, with thousands of evacuees stranded away from home.

This was a time of immense difficulty for our communities. While many people had their homes destroyed, others were facing health issues as an impact of the intense bushfire smoke and the stress of worrying for friends, family, and the community at large. It pushed everyone to their limits, but it also brought many of us together.

The support that we received and witnessed in our communities was astounding. People rallied together, doing what they could to help each other and provide assistance to the firefighters who were putting their lives on the line to protect us.

How much does it cost?

Usually, the calendar is free, but in light of this year’s events, we are asking for a gold coin donation for our 2021 Capital Chemist Community Calendar. Your contribution will make its way to a local Rural Fire Service as a thank you to the brave men and women who helped protect us this year.

What’s inside?

We’re thrilled to partner with Josh Burkinshaw Images for this year’s calendar. Josh is a landscape photographer based in Batemans Bay who captures the breathtaking beauty of the South Coast. Each month features an awe-inspiring image, from beautiful bushland to spectacular sunsets and dramatic ocean scenery.

Alongside Josh’s photography, you’ll find images from the heroic Maula Bay Fire Brigade.

As usual, the calendar has a full month to a page, with plenty of room to write in important dates and appointments for your family. It’s the perfect way to get organised for the new year and is full of healthy tips for you and your family.

Where can I get it?
